Plain-language privacy
A short summary of how we think about your data on GuiDrs, including calendar connections and the Chrome extension. This is not a substitute for legal advice or a finalized enterprise DPA, but it's the most honest first read you'll get.

What we use your info for
We process the profile, academic, research, and preference information you provide so we can run mentorship matching, school exploration, chat, document workflows, Application Packet tools, and related product features. We do not sell your personal information to data brokers.
Calendar connections
GuiDrs uses read-only Google Calendar access to time reminders and planning around your schedule. We do not create, modify, or delete calendar events; we do not sell calendar data; and we do not use Google Calendar data to train AI models. The same read-only approach applies when you connect Microsoft Outlook.
Chrome extension
The GuiDrs browser extension helps you insert Application Packet answers into graduate school forms and attach packet documents. It only uses data for that form-filling purpose. See the extension section below for what it stores and what it does not collect.
Agentic AI
Some optional features use AI on text you choose to submit (for example drafts or chat context) to suggest next steps. Google Calendar data is not sent to AI or model providers and is not used to train AI models. For any AI feature that processes content you submit, treat sensitive secrets carefully and only include what you are comfortable sharing.
Retention & security
We use industry-standard practices appropriate to our stage: access controls, encryption in transit where supported by our stack, and limited internal access to production data. Exact retention windows may evolve as we ship billing, exports, and deletion tools, when they change, we will update this page.
Visibility you control
You decide what mentors see. AI-generated summaries are previewed before they are shared. Nothing about you leaves the platform without an explicit action on your end. You can disconnect calendar providers anytime in settings.
Browser extension
GuiDrs Chrome extension
The extension's single purpose is helping you fill graduate school application forms using your GuiDrs Application Packet or details you enter in the side panel. Disclosures below match what we report on the Chrome Web Store.
What it handles
Personally identifiable information from your Application Packet or guest answers (for example name, email, phone, address, academics, and essays), authentication tokens when you sign in on GuiDrs so the extension can load your packet, and website content on school application pages (form labels and field values) so it can match, suggest, insert, save, or attach files.
Where it is stored
Guest answers and preferences stay in your browser via Chrome storage on that device. When you are signed in, the extension syncs your GuiDrs session and may load or save packet answers and documents through our GuiDrs API. We use that data only to power Application Packet form-filling, not for ads, resale, or credit decisions.
What it does not collect
The extension does not sell your data, does not build a browsing-history list, does not log keystrokes, clicks, mouse position, or scroll for analytics, and does not read your email, texts, or chat apps. Password fields are excluded from fill. It does not use your data for purposes unrelated to helping you complete graduate school forms.
Calendar
Google Calendar & Outlook
When you choose to connect a calendar, GuiDrs only reads schedule information to time reminders and planning. We never write events back to your provider, sell calendar data, or use it to train AI models.
Why we request access
GuiDrs uses read-only Google Calendar access to understand users' schedules and availability so it can time reminders, check-ins, and related academic planning around busy periods. Connecting the calendar you actually use — school, personal, or one shared for both — helps GuiDrs plan around your real week.
Read-only only
GuiDrs does not create, modify, or delete calendar events. We do not write back to Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook. Optional ICS subscribe links let you pull GuiDrs deadlines into your calendar app; that is a feed you choose to add, not GuiDrs editing your provider calendar.
What we use from your calendar
We use schedule and availability signals (such as busy/free times and, when you allow it, event context needed for reminder timing and planning). We do not use calendar data for advertising, resale, credit decisions, or unrelated profiling. You can disconnect Google or Outlook at any time in Calendar settings.
Who we share Google Calendar data with
We do not sell Google user data, including Google Calendar data. We do not share, transfer, or disclose Google Calendar data to advertisers or data brokers. Calendar data is processed on GuiDrs systems and by infrastructure providers that host and operate our application and databases on our behalf (for example our cloud hosting and data-store providers), solely to run the reminder and planning features described above. We do not transfer Google Calendar data to third-party AI or machine-learning providers, and we do not use Google Calendar data to create, train, or improve foundational or generalized AI/ML models.
Google Limited Use
The use of raw or derived user data received from Google APIs (including Google Calendar) will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google Calendar access is used only to provide or improve user-facing reminder and scheduling features in GuiDrs, not for independent AI model training.
