How it works

From “what next?” to real momentum

Three clear steps designed for applicants and graduate students who need specific, grounded guidance - not generic advice.

Step 01

Tell GuiDrs where you are and where you're going

Share your research direction, program goals, and where you are on the path, applying, admitted, or already deep in graduate school. GuiDrs uses agentic AI to interpret your context so every suggestion stays specific to you, not a random list of professors.

Note: You control what you share. AI summarizes and interprets, you approve the scope before anything runs.
Define your focus
Step 02

See who actually aligns with your work

If you're applying, you get clearer program and advisor fit. If you're already in graduate school, you see mentors whose methods, areas, and experience line up with what you're building. You always get transparent reasoning you can sanity-check.

Note: Match scores show why a mentor is surfaced, publications, keywords, and domain overlap, not a black-box recommendation.

Step 03

Every conversation, draft, and milestone in one place

Keep chats, drafts, milestones, and document refinement in one flow so nothing gets lost between sessions. GuiDrs helps you prepare structured asks so mentors can give focused, useful answers, not chase context.

Note: Works on phone and laptop. AI can summarize the thread for new mentors you connect with so you never start from zero.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need to be applying to grad school?
No. GuiDrs supports both applicants and students already in graduate school. Your experience on the platform adapts based on where you are in your journey.
How does the AI matching work?
GuiDrs reads your profile, research interests, and stated goals, then compares them against mentor profiles using domain keywords, publication topics, and stated areas of expertise. The reasoning is shown, not hidden.
What if I don't have a research direction yet?
That's fine. You can describe a broad interest area and GuiDrs will help you narrow it through matching and conversations. Many members start with a rough direction and sharpen it through the process.
Is my information shared with mentors automatically?
No. You control what each mentor sees. GuiDrs may generate a summary, but you review it before it's shared. Nothing goes out without your approval.
